So, one of the things that Beyu Caffe is incredibly passionate about is Durham. We love it’s feel. We love it’s people. We love the movement and growth and, yes, the little bit of energetic chaos that makes a city like Durham so fantastic. And we love helping make that what it is. We were once a young entrepreneur just starting out, and we know what it felt like. That’s why we now spend so much of our time working to make Beyu a place where young businesses and entrepreneurs can come, meet, bounce around ideas and grow their own business plans. With that in mind, and with the help of the fine folks at the Durham Chamber of Commerce, Beyu Caffe is delighted to introduce (officially) something we have been doing for a while now — Feedback Friday. This is a chance for small startups to come in, buy your cup of coffee, and beg you for opinions on their plans and ideas. That’s right — you come in. You hear their tiny little pitch about their idea, and in exchange they buy your coffee for you. It’s the perfect win-win situation. The startups get the opinions of the brilliant Beyu audience, thus allowing them to better tailor and modify their ideas, and you get a free cup of Beyu coffee and the knowledge that you are helping your beloved city grow into all it can be.
I’m delighted to be introducing you to the first of our Feedback Friday startups — Offline Media. They’ve been in and out of Beyu for months now, and I’ve gotten to know both the company and its founders quite well. They are a spectacular group with brilliant ideas. I don’t want to give too many spoilers — I’d rather you come in and talk to them for yourselves, but here’s a little peek at how they think, from the Offline Media blog: “Months ago we set out to help relocated young professionals rebuild their lost relationships by hanging out together in the real world, and we’re confident that our product solves that need. However, in the event of a pivot, if unforeseen circumstances lead us to change our demographic or change our features, there is one thing that will never change: helping people rediscover the real world.” If that doesn’t entice you to come in and talk to this brilliant startup on Friday, then check out the video below for their Startup Stampede pitch. I know it will draw you in to talk to these men.
